mr. & mrs. smith

We repositioned mr. & mrs. smith as a modern relationship story wrapped in a stylish spy thriller, rather than a remake of the 2005 film. Across strategy, 360 social, AV, and design, we drew from classic espionage while embracing the series’ distinctive in-world aesthetic. By balancing action with awkward humor and emotional intimacy, the campaign helped audiences appreciate the Smiths—and the franchise—on fresh terms.

THE CHALLENGE

How do you reinvent an iconic franchise while convincing audiences to stop comparing it to the original?

OUR APPROACH

THE IMPACT

Helped establish a fresh identity for mr. & mrs. smith, allowing audiences to appreciate the series on its own terms.

HiHi Activation

We supported the ideation and promotion of HiHi, a Mr. & Mrs. Smith-inspired stunt that turned the series’ mysterious mission system into a series of unexpected real-world moments designed to spark curiosity and conversation. From bizarre celebrity encounters to disruptive public scenarios, our work helped connect the activation back to the show and amplify the reveal across social.

Review Highlights

We turned standout reviews for mr. & mrs. smith into a set of clean, character-driven social cards, pairing critic pull quotes with moments that capture the chemistry, action, and performances at the center of the series.

Maya Erskine seated on the floor under a table clutching a large kitchen knife, with a black horizontal quote bar to the left reading "tour-de-force performance from maya erskine."
Two formally dressed people kneel side-by-side in an ornate room while a textured black horizontal bar across the top displays a cyan-highlighted critic quote praising the cast and chemistry.
A Black man in a black sweater aims a pistol across a low stone barrier while a black rectangular quote panel overlays the right side reading “worth every moment.”

Hidden Messages

We turned Hihi’s mission briefs into the countdown itself. Across the Mr. & Mrs. Smith launch series, suspiciously capitalized letters hidden inside John and Jane’s increasingly questionable assignments quietly spell out ONE WEEK, TOMORROW, and WATCH NOW, rewarding anyone paying close enough attention before landing back in the world of the show.

Noted

Even assassins need reminders. For our Mr. & Mrs. Smith “Noted” series, we imagined the little messages John and Jane might leave around the house, blending everyday relationship logistics with the slightly more complicated reality of being married spies.

Floor lamp casting warm light on a beige wall with a yellow handwritten sticky note reading "tired... picking up more wine and ammo. -jane" and woven upholstery at left.
Woman brushing her teeth reflected in a round mirror, with handwritten script saying "meet me at the market - john" faintly visible on the mirror surface in warm, dim light.
Front-facing hi-fi amplifier with glowing vacuum tubes, two blue VU meters, a digital 'Bluetooth' display, and a yellow sticky note reading 'therapy at 4, don't be late — jane' above the controls.
